It's Safari Time!

I'm somewhere in the jungle in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. I've been on a safari for 5 days now and I've been fortunate enough to see many great animals! Once I get home with better wifi I'll make day by day posts with spectacular pictures of my trip so far. -elephants crossing the road about 2 meters from our car -a lion, resting, after freshly killing a wildebeest -a mother cheetah with three little cubs playing -a male leopard resting on a tree -a wildebeest migration of about 200 Also, Impalas Gazelles Warthogs Giraffes Zebras Ostriches I've been staying in tented camps, but these aren't regular tents. They are Massive tents with a separate living room and bathroom. It's really impressive. I never thought I'd be living a luxurious life in Africa! I was ready to come back having lost a few pounds, but I think I gained a few! The food is SO GOOD! Stay tuned for pictures!

How to Pack Carry On Luggage

Step 1: The Most Important! Choose a bag that is large enough to hold what you need, but make sure that it is small enough to fit the size requirements for the airline. Do not think you can get away with a bigger bag. I promise you, they will make you check it in! A soft sided bag is suggested as many planes get delayed and you may need a pillow waiting at the airport!
Step 2: Just Incase! Bring extra clothes. This is a key when traveling overseas. You may want to freshen up on your trip. Maybe when you get there your bag doesn't show up and you need to wait another day or two! You'll be glad to have those clothes with you.
Step 3: Daily Toiletries. Things like a toothbrush and small toothpaste, contact lens solution, lotion, may come in handy on long flights. Just make sure the bottles fit the content requirement and are packed in zip up plastic bags. Otherwise, security WILL throw them away!
Step 4: Snack Time! Personally, I think airplane food has a horrible taste. I always keep little snacks with me on long journeys. It helps you stay comfortable, and even pass some time.
Step 5: Medication. This is a very important one. You never know when the crying baby behind you will give you a huge headache, or the blasting air conditioner on the plane makes your nose runny. Keeping medications will also help you stay comfortable on your journey.
Step 6: Stay Comfy! Unless you are on a business trip, it is a good idea to wear your comfiest pair of sweatpants along with your high school sweatshirt on plane journeys. It will help you relax and be able to sleep. Those seats aren't the most comfortable places to be for 8 hours, so come prepared!
Step 7: Stay Entertained! Whatever you please, take a book, music, movies, crossword puzzles, a newspaper, a journal, etc., to keep you occupied. Not all planes have the built in tv screens where you can pick from a selections of movies (these are my favorite planes). You will like to pass the time, especially if it is a long flight.
