Today in class I finished editing my Museum of London review. It was so hard getting it down to 400 words! I also worked on "My Favourite Thing" (see the British spelling? :) ), which was King's Cross Station Platform 9 3/4, and my "About Me". In order it work on my Afternoon Tea feature, I had to go get more tea! I set off after class, originally to go to Libre Cafe near Carnaby Street. Yeah...didn't end up there. I mean I was walking in that direction, but I couldn't find it. Instead, I went to a place called Patisserie Valeria that I had seen a few times and wanted to try.
So. Glad. I. Did.
I sat down by the window and ordered an English breakfast tea. It came on a wooden platter in a green put, a cute tea cup, and a little cup with cream, aka milk. I was already in love with the place before I tasted what I ordered. I also got a mozzerella, tomato, avocado, and basil sandwich .It came out with a fresh salad with a delicious dressing and some crisps. Ahhh I was dying everything tasted sooo soo sooooo amazing. My mouth is watering right now just thinking of it. I'm really getting the hang of this loose leaf tea thing. It just tastes so good! I can't describe it.
My friend said this to me and it's really true:
"Coffee dates are fun and all but there's something about sitting at a cute shop with a warm drink just doing your own thing."
I just felt good. I didn't mind being alone. I felt happy.
I'm really enjoying my study abroad experience so far.
I sat peacefully and before I knew it I finished my lunch and the whole pot of tea! My tongue was very happy, probably the best food I've had here so far. I even got dessert for takeaway and was pleasantly surprised at how the server wrapped it up in a cute box with a pink bow.
I was so happy with my Patisserie bag, walking around listening to music. I just felt great. Like a real Londoner. I felt independent, older. Ah I can't describe it.
I set off again to the tube and headed back to Old Street. On my ride back, a little band started playing music on the train. It was really delightful.
I just chilled in my room for the rest of the day. Made dinner, and Zumbad from my laptop! ...I had to make up for the cheesecake. :)
I have class again tomorrow and I'm really excited. Learning how to use InDesign!
