Day 9: Tower Stuff

I was able to sleep in on Sunday as well, which was nice.
The ISA group was visiting the Tower of London. We had to walk to Moorgate again because the Northern line was still closed. We took the Circle that was headed towards Tower Hill Station. However, When we got to Aldergate, it was announce that the line was closed and that was the last stop. So, we got out of the station and just walked the rest.
We had some ice cream (I had the coffee flavor, yum!) and were waiting for our guide. It was already past 2 and we didn’t see her, so we got a little worried. Turns out, we were at the wrong exit. This keeps happening for some reason! We finally found her and started the tour. The guide was really intense actually. She was super passionate and really emphasized her words. She told us about the Tower of London and events that had occurred there, mainly executions. It was build by William the Conqueror in 1078 as a symbol of oppression and power.
We walked towards the tower, where we got a better view of the Tower Bridge of London. It was a really cloudy day, so the pictures looked super intense. Again, I was glad I had my awesome camera! We went inside the tower and learned more about the specific buildings. We were also able to see some London guards up close! I got more pictures :) The line for the Crown Jewel was super super long, so I didn’t wait. I had already seen it back in 2006. Instead, I explored more of the towers. Then, we headed to King’s Cross for some food and we took the bus to Old Street from there.
I didn’t do much else for the rest of the day.
