The day started off with class at the Cavendish Campus of the University of Westminster. This felt more like a university. The building was very modern and academic. We got out selections for our written assignments. I was given the Museum of London. Also, my feature will be on the culture of afternoon teas and different areas of London in which people can experience them. I'm excited that my class is so incorporated with London! My teacher was really excited about this and she gave me a lot of tips. I think she likes me :)
After class I headed to the H&M on Oxford Street because I wanted a bigger crossbody bag to carry around. Then, I headed back home on the tube, by myself this time! I did a quick change into some nicer clothes and then headed off to the Afternoon Tea and the famous Harrod’s in Knightsbridge. Harrod’s is a famous upmarket department store, and the biggest in Europe. It has everything from kitchen and bedding to designer shoes and clothing to luxurious jewelry. Even the elevators are gorgeous. Harrod’s is also famous for it’s tea room where people can enjoy a luxurious British style afternoon tea. We were seated at a long table and served within a short time. There were sugar cubes and creme to go along and it was absolutely delicious and beautiful as well! Then, we were served our dainty little treats. I had a few sandwiches, cucumber and cheese, and a mozzarella mushroom zucchini and pesto. Then, I had the famous English scone. Finally, I had a selection from desserts. They consisted of a chocolate cake, lemon meriungue, raspberry macaroon, and a creme wafer thing. Everything was so amazing. We then set off to explore the store. We saw cute little puppies and accessories, designer bags and dresses, and a giant candy store. We also saw the original clothes worn by the actors in the Great Gatsby! I took a picture next to a giant teddy bear because I remembered taking one similar to it when I was last in London in 2006. Then, I put the two next to each other when I got home to see the transformation.
After, my friend and I headed to King’s Cross Station to the famous platform 9 3/4 from Harry Potter. We had some trouble finding it, but we finally did and it was really awesome. I was able to wear a scarf (blue for Ravenclaw of course) and take a picture pushing the cart into the wall. We then checked out the gift shop that all kinds of cool Harry Potter things. I thought it was really cool that the first book was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone instead of the Sorcerer's Stone since we are in London.
Finally, we headed back to Old Street and I Facetimed with family telling them about all my fun adventures.
Tomorrow is a historical day. I’ll be visiting the Tower of London and Museum of London.
